Loblaw is Canada’s food and pharmacy leader, with a house of brands which includes President’s Choice (CPG and food), PC Financial (bank), Loblaw’s, Zehr’s, Real Canadian Superstore, Maxi, NoFrills (marketplace, discount and hard discount grocery), Shopper’s Drug mart (pharmacy), Joe Fresh (clothing brand), and PC Optimum (Loyalty program).
Deloitte partnered with Loblaw and its digital team to design and develop the digital user experience of its marketplace and discount brands as well as its loyalty program. Our teams were involved in defining the strategy, human-centered design process and innovation to develop the following brand experiences, as well as continue to lead the conversation for new channels like AR and Voice for e-commerce:
Shop & Scan, a self-checkout experience enabling a shopper to scan items with their phone as they shop, and skip the checkout line.
Click & Collect, a desktop and mobile shopping experience which allowed a customer to simply drive to a store to have their items loaded by a store valet, skipping the in-store experience altogether.
PC Optimum, the combination of President’s Choice and Shopper’s loyalty programs into the largest loyalty program in Canada, requiring millions of users to be migrated to the new platform.
PC iD, the universal credentials system allowing for one view of the customer across all Loblaw brands.
PC Express, the combination of all of the above into one experience to enhance the in-store and DTC experience and provide a uniquely Canadian alternative to Amazon and Walmart.
Working seamlessly
Loblaw’s brands have multiple agency partners, whom we worked with to interpret the brand vision and extend brand guidelines to create digital design systems and set standards which allowed our teams to quickly prototype, test and iterate with over time, and create efficiencies on the development side for interaction design and implementation.
